Sector of radiation technologies
The main task of the department: development of radiation-induced methods of production of nanocrystalline fine film structure and investigation of their structure-phase stability in conditions of ion bombardment, gaseous and thermal loads.
Lines of activity:
- investigation of radiation damage and resistance to helium and hydrogen swelling of multiphase nanocrystalline structures, including NbN/Si3N4, TiN/NbN, Y2O3/Fe, TiN/Fe, Cr23C6/Fe;
- development and investigation of nanoporous intermetallide V, Mg, Ti-(N-He, Ne) adsorbents of hydrogen;
- production and study of composite nanocrystalline coatings, having high operational characteristics in conditions of increased temperatures and mechanical loads;
